Writing IELTS is one of the ways towards immigrating legally. A good number of Ghanaians has the desire to experience life overseas. These experiences have proven to be beneficial to personal and national development. Those who have these desires need to be encouraged and shown the right paths that lead to their dreams. Dreams Consult supports any form of migration that is genuine and purposeful. It is for these reasons that we bring to you how to register for the globally accepted English language proficiency test- International English Language Testing System (IELTS)
After you have finished your preparation schedule, either by self-study or enrolling in our IELTS coaching program, you need to book the test. You need to select a test date and input your details into the registration portal. It is only when your details are accepted and confirmed that you can write the test. There are registration portals for IELTS for UKVI and Standard IELTS. You need to you the right website.
As IELTS occasionally changes the processes and introduces new forms of the exams, it is worthy of note that the information given below is accurate as at December 2018. Attempts will be made regularly to update this information whenever necessary. However, this should not preclude you from contacting us or the British council directly if there is anything to clarify.
ID Card Requirement
You can register for the exam in Ghana with a passport (all nationals) or the national ID (Ghana card). No other form of ID card will be accepted apart from those listed. Photocopies, certified or notarized copies of these cards will not be accepted. It is therefore advisable not to register for IELTS if you do not have any of those ID cards. Also, if the cards will not be available with you on the test dates do not register.
British Council IELTS Partnership Programme
To register for IELTS, you can either do it online (British Council IELTS website) or you can contact any of the British council approved registration agencies. Dreams Consult is an approved IELTS registration agency and is available in all the cities where IELTS is conducted; Accra, Kumasi and Tamale.
DIY (Do it Yourself)
If you wish to book the IELTS yourself, then you need to have a scanned copy of your ID card in the acceptable format. Fill out all the required and applicable fields in the online form. You can then proceed to pay for the exams using either visa or master card. Alternatively, you can follow the payment instructions you will automatically receive to pay at a Standard Chartered Bank close to you.
If you visit approved centres (Dreams Consult and others) you only need your hardcopy ID card. After the registration, you need to take the receipt for payment when you pay at the registration centre.
